Mahmoud El Khatib, Al Ahly’s President, expressed his sincere thanks and gratitude to president Abdel Fattah El-Sisi for his great support to Egyptian sports and all its institutions, during Saturday’s historic event.

Al Ahly’s board of directors, headed by president Mahmoud El Khatib, laid the foundation stone of Al Ahly Stadium at the club’s premises in Sheikh Zayed City in the presence of some of the nation’s respectable figures.

In his speech, El Khatib welcomed all the esteemed guests, including the following respectable names:

Ashraf Sobhy: Minister of Youth and Sports,

Assem El Gazzar: Minister of Housing, Utilities and New Urban Communities,

Ahmed Hafez: Giza governor.

“When I was a player, I used to dream of having a stadium called Al Ahly Stadium. A lot of years have passed and here we are witnessing a new historic chapter in the club’s history.”
